We Are All Nothing

Forget what I said.

I just watched Syriana.

Silly me.

There is nothing we can do. We are the slaves of the few people who actually have all the decision making power.

It doesn't matter what we do or don't do.

We are no body.

We can't do anything, the people who run the world will do what ever they feel like doing.

And we give them all our money...and they play all the mind games they feel like and don't give a rat's bottom about us.

Go ahead, blog, write letters, protest.

No one cares what you think.

I saw that film and it freaked me out.
this will put you in awe as if Syriana wasn't heavy enough.

Candy, I've not seen Syriana yet, though it is on my list. Sounds like fun!

Democracy is just an eyewash Candy.

Yes, Rauf, and boy does Syriana do a good job of demonstrating the way things really work around here...

No, Candy, say it ain't so! Don't like to hear you all dejected and defeated. Where is the strong, combative girl who wrote a post in reply to the Rise Against video? The one with the solutions and the advice stall? Bring her back! Bloody George Clooney... Next time I bump into him at Lake Como I'll tell him it's just not on to depress my blog mate like this. ;-)

(BTW, quite a thriving little music scene you've got going on in Chicago. I've conted four bands that I like that hail from there: Alkaline Trio, Rise Against, Fall Out Boy and Marty Casey & The Lovehammers! Any others I should keep an eye out for?)

what you say is true -- but I think we can combat evil (i'm watching too much "You can be a Superhero.") by even small things...as you said writing letters, letting your leaders know how you feel on issues, (if they get enough letters they'll listen.) Blogging is getting dangerous because governments are scanning the blogs - truly. I will add your email to my send list for saving whales, wildhorses, wildnerness areas, etc.,etc.

Hey come on now... Don't be so down on life... There are a whole lot of negative things going on out there... But there are a whole lot of good things as well... As for us not making a difference. You know that's not quite true... Like you said in your previous post... Every one of us as an individual can make a difference...

I just watched The Corporation. It was very depressing, too.

Candy you and me are on the same page. I haven't seen Syriana yet but I felt the same way after seeing The Constant Gardner. It's like what is the point?

Yes, The Corporation and Constant Gardener were tough ones.

Actually, The Corporation was the movie where I found out Illinois doesn't have a law to protect labeling food for growth hormone...so we landed up going to get organic milk.

Gotta remember to chase these heay movies with Zoolander or Wedding Crashers to keep up the energy!

Actually, I thought The Wedding Crashers was pretty depressing because it was so mysogynistic (sp, I know). I agree about The Constant Gardener; it was depressing and really made Africa out to be the worst shithole...
